After taking only one look at the tunes on this mix on rhe tracklisting below, any hip hop head worth their shell-toes will already know they are going to enjoy this. DJ Sheriff Rosco has done a great job of putting this wicked selection of tracks from Method Recordings together in Check The Method Vol. 1.

I have to admit that before getting my hands on this album I hadn’t heard of Sheriff Rosco. However, judging by the shout outs he gets on this mix I probably should have heard of him a long time ago. Doujah Raze, Rob Swift, Flagrant and Bones just to name a few, but he also gets a huge big-up from Wu Tang’s RZA who calls it the best mixtape in Australia. You probably don’t need to read the rest of this article to find out what I think after a review like that from The RZA.

Whether you’re familiar with these joints or not, I highly recommend having a listen to this mix. This would also be a great listen for anyone just getting into hip hop as well, nothing over-the-top offensive or aggressive, it’s a very easy listen from start to finish. My favourite tracks on it are Catch Me with Lupe Fiasco and Evidence, Rftc by Atmosphere and of course Cuz I’m Jazzy by Guru from his brilliant Jazzamattaz series. Sheriff Rosco has a radio show which is on Melbourne’s 3RRR at 10pm Friday nights. Sydneysiders it might be time to get podcasting…
