The Australian electronic music scene has now got an exciting new outlet for music releases in Brain Kat Records, the brainchild of UK born now Perthling DJ and producer Ben Jam. A seasoned and recognised entity within the local and UK dance music scene, Ben’s new label has its first release, Ollie Brooke feat. Nica Brooke Fireflies.

This release pays homage to the relaxed club by the beach, serving Mohito’s while the sun goes down. With a smooth jazzy bass line intertwined with a soft piano melody and the truly lovely vocals of Nica Brooke, you can’t help but just relax and let this tune take you along for the ride.

The track has been in Ollie’s arsenal since 2007, but since getting it signed to Brain Kat, it has caused much excitement, with 10 remixes already complete and ready to go! Such artists include; Vincent Kwok, Mystery & Matt Early, DJ Freestyle, Mike Jules, Mike Acetate, Filthyboy and even Brain Kats very own Ben Jam. The Mystery and Matt Early Broken Beat Remix ups the funk with a choppy break-beat, the Mike Jules Deep Dub provides a minimal tone while the Filthyboy Remix ups the energy with some banging electro sounds. Every facet has been covered to allow everyone to support and enjoy Perth’s local talent.
