Nearly two years after its original release on his own Salted Music imprint, Miguel Migs’ album ‘Those Things’ has been repackaged and re-released with a remix set to boot, and the second coming of ‘Those Things’ is well worth checking out.

Migs and Salted have teamed with Australian label and all round ‘lifestyle’ brand Onelove and Sony-BMG for the re-release and, while the original album is now quite dated and many of the remixed tracks are over a year old too, this is the complete package of recent productions and remixes for Migs’ many Australian fans, and is testament to his pull and enduring appeal for ‘heads down under.

Long synonymous with all things West Coast house, Miguel Migs has looked far and wide in enlisting those for remix duties, and there are some fantastic offerings included. Nottingham five piece Crazy P start disc two with their funk-laden take on Sometime, while Melbourne’s own Simon Grey represents with his wicked remix of Those Things.

Migs himself turns in several of his own bumpy reworks, including new takes on Let Me Be, Giving It All and Make Things Happen, but overall the second remix disc is a nicely varied selection. Farplane Records head boy and Swedish long-time deep house favourite Rasmus Faber turns in a smooth and sexy, Latin-tipped mix of So Far, while New York’s own Alix Alvarez shows why he is one of the current movers and shakers of the house scene through his own SOLE Channel remix of Mezmerized.

Elsewhere, Faze Action turns in an afro-beat mix of Fire complete with fantastic horns, while Grammy-winning producer Cottonbelly – who has previously appeared on several albums by Sade – also puts his more laid-back, bass-heavy take on the track.

This is a good package for DJs especially, given that all tracks are included in full and, for those who have followed Salted’s staggered release of singles from Those Things, this will bring you up to date.
