For their second instalment of their Hard Dance Icons series, the Masif label has brought on board undoubtedly one of the biggest hard dance DJs in the world Proteus. Finland’s Proteus has a strong and solid fanbase that are sure to flock to his gigs when he tours down under in May/June. But in the meantime, you can catch his unique hard sound on this compilation across two mega discs of driving hard dance and tight mixing from the man himself.

Here we hear tracks on his mix from Zany & Beholder, DJ X Lab4, Adam Lab-4, Ultraform and more, plus of course, productions from Proteus himself. Hard dance or hardstyle? At times, I’m not sure of the difference but fans of Proteus will know, and generally it has a melody layered across the banging beat so I reckon that classifies as hard dance, don’t you? After Alex Kidd’s serving on the first instalment, I already expected some very hard dance, and this doesn’t let me down. If you like it banging, then you should get your hands on the Masif series pronto.
