When I’ve been looking for progressive house and trance recently, two styles seem to dominate a lot of the tracks that I’ve seen: the clicky, techno style percussion and the Deadmau5 style clap and synths. While I like some tunes with this sound, it’s nice to come across something that doesn’t rely on those current trends. Morning Blend from Norwegian Jeff Andvik is a really nice progressive trance tune, it’s got growling bass, great kicks and a nice atmospheric feel to it, similar to Vibrasphere from a couple of years ago. The only letdown is that the release is just a single track, so I’m looking forward to some more Norwegian trance from Jeff!
