Aquasky vs. Master Blaster - All in Check / Thru the Fire (Remixes)

Although with a history in drum & bass, the Aquasky vs. Master Blaster duo have been doing good things on the breakbeat front of late thanks in no small part to their impressive album Beat the System. Their latest 12” is no different, with the Atomic Hooligan Remix of All in Check feat Ragga Twins and the Backdraft Remix of Thru the Fire feat Billie both certain to send breakbeat crowds into a frenzy.

Featuring the trademark vocals of the Ragga Twins, the Atomic Hooligan Remix of All in Check is reminiscent of Aquasky vs. Master Blaster’s kick-ass single of last year Loko (well the Dub Mix anyway, which coincidentally also featured the Ragga Twins). It is incredibly funky and very bass driven, with the Ragga Twins’ sometimes-demented sounding vocals perfectly suited.

Backdraft’s remix of Thru the Fire takes a slightly different approach. A little bit darker overall, but just as funky as All in Check thanks again to a notable bassline. The track features the vocals of Billie, a tried and tested collaborator who has also worked with SOTO in the past.

Once again, an awesome release of dark techy breaks from the team at Botchit & Scarper.
