Dirty Vegas are best known for the their track Days Go By, which they sold to Mitsubishi last year contributing largely to its successful ad campaign and which has recently been nominated for a Grammy award. Riding on their recent success, Dirty Vegas bring us A Night At The Tables their first mix CD.

Dirty Vegas are more than qualified to bring us such product as members Paul Harris and Steve Smith have been DJing the London club circuit since the early 90’s ending up landing gigs at legendary superclubs like Ministry of Sound and Cream. Their other member, Ben Harris, is former member of the successful house duo Bullitt.

A Night At The Tables is a collection of recent big-sounding and energetic house club tracks. The feel of the album is of darkness and debauchery and this is realised in both the music and lyrics of the selected tracks.

Dirty Vegas kick off their mix with The Scrumfrog’s grinding house remix of Kylie Minogue’s Love At First Sight. Oscar & Ralph Falcon’s Dark Beat follows with its focus on percussion as the throaty vocal declares their “addicted to drums and a slave to the dark beat”. Great stuff.

Then comes Underworld’s 2 Months Off which takes us straight off into the madness with its catchy vocals and driving chords. Timo Mass’ remix of Starecase’s See continues on the journey as the singer advises “deep inside of me floats a psychedelic sea… now everything’s complete”.

Frankie Knuckles Feat Nicki Richards’ Keep on Moving is a solid house track, while Sandy Rivera Feat Haze’s Changes introduces smooth R’n’B vocals. Dirty Vegas’ own track Ghosts is aptly named as impending-doom synths introduce vocals which have a certain unique vacant presence about them.

The mix then takes a more Tenaglia-fashioned underground house party feel ushered in by Celeda’s Be Yourself (And No One Else) written and produced by the man himself. Stylishly mixed-in is Vibe Residents Feat Dragonfly’s Temptation with its sexy vocals stating “lust and pain is all you’ll know”. Dirty Vegas end the CD with their own track I Should Know.

Dirty Vegas’ A Night At The Tables is a mix of easily likeable club tracks, great for partying and psyching you up for a night out on the town. Check out their website at www.dirtyvegas.com.
