Ajax to headline Corey's east coast tour?

Notorious party boy Corey Delaney looks set to capitalise on his sudden rise to infamy, with the Daily Telegraph reporting the 16 year old has accepted the offer of a “national party tour” from an unnamed Sydney event promoter. Get ready for it, though, as the simple fact that a tour of this nature could actually happen isn’t the most shocking part of the whole story…
If we’re to trust the accuracy of a crudely designed flier circulating online at present (check the ITM Forum thread HERE, or for something seemingly a little more concrete you could head to Corey’s MySpace page HERE), the one and only Ajax is set to headline. Perhaps not as surprising is the fact that Tim Sabre and his Raw Events company look to be the ones behind it all.
It was only last week that ITM asked some of Australia’s top DJs whether they’d play at a Corey promoted event, with answers ranging from amusing to the absurd. We figured that would be the last time we heard the Corey name, with his 15 minutes in the spotlight having already dragged on throughout an entire week. In complete honesty, we couldn’t conceive a tour of this nature actually getting off the ground. It seems that we were wrong!
Flouting basic rules of grammar in naming the tour (a word to the promoter; ‘Coreys’ needs an apostrophe before the ‘s’), the flier says that ‘Coreys Party Tour’ will hit Sydney on February 23, Brisbane on March 8 and Melbourne on March 21. However, when you search ‘Corey Party’ on Moshtix the dates returned are different, and the Sydney venue is the only one announced so far (Luna Park Big Top). None of this really instills much confidence in the professionalism of the tour, but did you really expect anything less?
Will inthemix be admitted to send a reviewer and photographer, and will we get the chance to interview Corey before his undertakes the tour? Who knows, but stay tuned to ITM for updates…
