With the Soundwave Festival done and dusted for another year, reigning headliners Nine Inch Nails have named the Perth event as their favourite. Passing the time in an airport lounge, the band members made several Twitter posts praising the final stop of the tour.
Fans watching NIN’s set in Perth were treated to a surprise appearance by members of Dillinger Escape Plan during Wish – capping off a special night. “Perth show was spectacular,” bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen ‘Tweeted’. “They win the Best Australian Audience award. And the end of the show? Wow.”
The highlight for Trent Reznor was somewhat different. “Perth reintroduces the long-lost rock tradition of tit-flashing. Finally! I knew it would eventually come back in style,” enthused the frontman. “To clarify: Perth audience excellent, anatomy display notwithstanding :) Dillinger joined for Wish at the end; destruction/melted faces,” added Meldal-Johnsen.
