Returning for the sixth year running The Pyramid Rock Festival has just announced its first line-up, and boy is it a beauty! Ringing in the New Year at Phillip Island will be the enigma-wrapped-in-an-enigma, Luke Steele, heading up his electro-pop behemoth Empire Of The Sun. Jay-Z’s best mate will be joined by fellow Aussies and festival regulars The Cat Empire, Bluejuice, Architecture In Helsinki as well as a rash of Modular favourites like Van She, Tame Impala and Bumblebeez.
On the international front, the Pyramid crew have lined up some very tasty talent including the one and only James Murphy, who’ll be appearing under his LCD Soundsystem moniker for some exclusive DJ sets. Following the DFA Records honcho out to Australia will be fellow New Yorkers The Juan MacLean and Telepathe as well as US hip-hoppers Ugly Duckling.
