Paul Van Dyk creates Berlin Wall anthem

It’s been a very German-centric week here at inthemix HQ, with the enormous Beck’s Berlin Sessions kicking off in Perth last week and set to hit Melbourne and Sydney this weekend, not to mention this past Monday marking an historic twenty years since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Oh and we’re all wearing lederhosens, but that’s kind of a daily thing anyway.
The German love continues to flow, as this week German trance kingpin Paul Van Dyk has himself paid tribute to the 20th anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s downfall, releasing a new track designed as an anthem for German unification and freedom, We Are One.
You can hear the track in the clip below, and, well, we applaud Van Dyk for taking a different route with this track. Obviously the trance heavyweight figured the milestone wasn’t the opportunity for a big doof, instead keeping things sedate with a ballad the likes of which you immediately associate with lots of hand-holding and swaying.
If you’re up for immersing yourself in some additional slices of German culture, check out the Beck’s Berlin Sessions hub for videos, features and mixes from the current tour’s club-guns Ame, Move D and Benji Frolich.
