We all known that six years is a long, long time to be hanging around in dance music and still throwing parties, so that’s reason enough to celebrate another milestone for Melbourne underground night Blow Your Own Way. They’ve brought a steady flow of unbeatable European names to Melbourne dancefloors, including luminaries like Kenny Larkin, Robert Babicz, Vince Watson and Ripperton to name but a few. For the sixth birthday shenanigans though, they’ve got an extra special guest in the form of Germany’s Henrik Schwarz, who’ll be headlining the event along with some able support from Frenchmen Chateau Flight.
Henrik Schwarz is a longstanding player in the German deep house and techno scene, and renowned producer for the Innervisions label, and he’s been pumping out the original productions since the early 90s as well as remixing acts as diverse as Unkle, Underworld, Jesse Rose, Tosca, Jazzanova, Carl Craig, Booka Shade, DJ Hell and more. He’s most well known for his live shows though, and he’ll be bringing his laptop along for a 100 per cent live performance.
Chateau Flight on the other hand are Parisian DJ/producers Gilb’r and Nicholas Chaix, regulars at the Versatile Records label since 1996 and responsible for one of the best loved additions to Get Physical’s esteemed Body Language series.
For this special occasion the Blow Your Own Way crew will be joined by local house music promoters HoolaHoop, and they’ll all be playing across the two rooms of Roxanne and its all-new Nexo soundsystem. Local support will include Christian Vance, Dave Pham, Ant J. Steep, Aram Chapers, Mike Gurrieri and more.
Blow Your Own Way 6th Birthday featuring Henrik Schwarz live, presented by inthemix! Hits Roxanne Parlour on Saturday 12th December, tickets on sale now.
