Kavinsky’s Daft Punk-assisted resurrection
Tue 9th Mar, 2010 in News 4940 views
French electro zombie Kavinsky has been unseasonably quiet over the last year or so, perhaps laying low while the inevitable distortion backlash washed over his mint-condition Testarossa. Well that’s how imagine it, but the more probable story is that he’s been busy working on a swag of new synthed-out material for consumption.
Supporting the latter theory, Kavinsky is at last getting around to releasing some new goodies, starting with a new EP called Nightcall. Out at the end of March on Air’s own Record Makers imprint, the EP finds Kavinsky exploring some newer sounds with the help of old sparring buddy Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo from Daft Punk on production duties and guest vocalist Lovefoxxx from CSS who shows up on the title track.
Rounding out the package with remixes are Breakbot, Jackson and Dustin N’Guyen which the internets are calling a secretive moniker for either Surkin or the Justice boys. It’s like one big French electro orgy, how cute!
Check the lead cut in the clip below and stay tuned for more zombie-rific details.
