Metronomy coming for Harbourlife
Thu 16th Sep, 2010 in News 1962 views
Last seen around these traps for the 2009 Parklife festival, British quirk-stars Metronomy are set to return to Australia to welcome in the summer as a part of promoter Fuzzy’s other big bash, Harbourlife.
ITMers might remember some wrinkled brows at the news that this year’s Harbourlife festival would play host to local stadium pinups The Temper Trap and an un-named group of ‘friends’.
The first buddy-band revealed for this Temper Trap love-in is indeed Metronomy, who’ll bring their typically British take on screwball electronica to Harbourlife in Sydney and its newly expanded second outing up on the Gold Coast this November. The presence of both acts alone means the 2010 incarnation will be a bold departure from the signature DJs setup at past Harbourlife events…
For those fans not around Sydney or the Goldie or just don’t want to hear Sweet Disposition for the 8000th time Metronomy will also be playing a buttload of sideshows around the country as announced via their MySpace, even giving Tasmanian fans a look-in on this tour. Awww!
UPDATE: THE SIDESHOW DATES PUBLISHED BY THE BAND ONLINE MAY NO LONGER BE GOING AHEAD. ITM WILL HAVE MORE UPDATES AS THEY COME IN.
Metronomy Harbourlife and national tour dates:
November 20th @ Harbourlife, Sydney
November 28th @ Harbourlife, Gold Coast
