The Presets pencil in live return

The last time we saw reigning electro kings The Presets onstage was over the New Years festival period, which served as the final chapter in the duo’s immense Apocalypso tour. After Summafieldayze on the Gold Coast, Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes retreated to the studio to begin work on album number three.
During this year the guys have popped up for the occasional DJ gig, but the general theme has been more work, less play. However, fans keen for a Presets fix can rejoice in the news that they’re back this summer.
A new-look show for 2011 will be unveiled in February at the msfest in Tasmania – what’s with the Apple Isle getting all the big stories? It’ll be the first chance to hear material from the next album, and it’s certainly intriguing to see where The Presets go after the stadium-sized production of Apocalypso.
That’s not all the dancing to be found on the msfest line-up, either. While The Presets head up the mainstage alongside a bunch of rock and indie types, the Ministry Of Sound backed Clubbers Guide Stage boasts live sets from three of the 2010’s success stories: inthemix50 victors The Aston Shuffle, festival staples Art Vs Science and Sydney duo The Bag Raiders, whose shimmering debut album is almost upon us.
The Presets return at msfest in Launceston, Tasmania on Saturday 26 February 2011.
