Trance Energy’s ‘Energy’ lineup is still pretty trancey

It was just the other week that ITM reported that the annual Dutch institution Trance Energy would be getting a makeover in 2011, changing it’s name and dropping the ‘Trance’ from the title. The move raised many an eye-brow, with some fearing future moves away from the trance field, a la Tiesto and his indie walkabouts. But this week those fears have been put to bed with promoters ID&T revealing the massive and indeed very trancey lineup for Energy 2011.

Set go down in Utrecht on February 19th, 2011, Energy will bring together an epic array of artists from all corners of the trance community, spreading their drool-inducing lineup over three rooms – Connect, Execute and Play – each headlined by genre big guns Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliewell and Tiesto respectively.

Blostering the lineup will be fellow laser-lovers like Sander van Doorn, ATB, Jochen Miller, Wippenberg and a few left-field picks in the Execute arena, namely AN21, Tocadisco and Wolfgang Gartner.

Energy 2011 lineup:

EXECUTE

WTF.... Production companies the globe over try so hard to be unique or differential from one another that they destroy the essence of the productions. Trance Energy or Energy was regarded as the Mecca for trance fans. Sad days...

That's kinda confusing seeing as "Energy" has for years been the name in Europe of the biggest rave in Switzerland, on the night of one of the biggest dance music festivals, the Zurich street parade. Kinda confusing there's two different groups putting on big dance parties in Europe called "Energy".... p.s. Trance Energy is still on my No1 list of parties to go to in Europe.
