Having made a name for himself with a parade of mind-warping productions and star support-slots for the likes Skream, Caspa and Benga, local dubstep prodigy Westernsynthetics is heading out on the road this summer to launch his debut album May Day Radio.
Kicking off this coming weekend with a stopover in Canberra, Westernsynthetics will be plying his politically charged dubstep sounds to bass lovers on the east coast of Australia.
“I’d like people to feel inspired both politically and artistically by the album,” Westernsynthetics mainman Rhyece O’Neill explains of the record. “I wanted to cover a range of soundscapes. I did this by using a lot of my own and other peoples sampling of old radios, streets, voices and noise.”
