While we’re just getting into the Australian festival season – in a very big way, of course – the Northern hemisphere’s party people are now looking ahead to their 2011 summer when all the big European festivals come out to play.

Just yesterday we heard the first initial details for the 18th annual Sonar Festival in Spain and today news is out concerning the rather tasty lineup announcement for well loved British festival, Bestival.

Backing up from its recent success in the UK Festival Awards, Bestival organisers have announced the first round of acts appearing on the 2011 festival bill, bringing together a typically diverse list of artists with plenty to dance to next September 8th-11th.

As well as enduring goth rock headliners The Cure, Bestival will play host to a swarm of DJs and live acts including Boys Noize, DJ Shadow, Magnetic Man, Primal Scream in full on Screamadelica mode and recent ITM Honour Roll inductee Diplo.

The full list is below to check out as well as another accolade for Bestival, with ITM readers voting it into the People’s Choice edition of our 15 Festivals To Do Before You Die list.

Kit... a lot of us actually leave Australia to go to gigs here and there... it's called "news"

because an Australian only music news would only be updated monthly and could get the same knowledge by reading year and half old articles from Europe
