Dirty South, Chemical Brothers score Grammy nominations
Thu 2nd Dec, 2010 Newsin
Amongst the usual pop dross that gets nominated for the annual exhibition in back-slappery, The Grammy Awards, there are a few things for dance fans to smile about with recognition being paid to some well deserving producers and artists and their big records from the last year (or so).
Amongst the Justin Bieber’s and Katy Perry’s of the world, the nominees in the dance categories for the 53rd Grammy Awards include upcoming Future Music Festival headliners The Chemical Brothers, Groove Armada and even Australia’s own Dirty South for his remix work with buddy Axwell on The Temper Trap’s Sweet Disposition.
Meanwhile in the Best Dance Recording category, which awards gongs to single tracks and not albums, it’s an all female affair with electro sirens Goldfrapp, Robyn and La Roux rubbing shoulders with club-jumpers Rihanna and Lady Gaga.
