Strawberry Fields Festival photos on inthemix
Fri 3rd Dec, 2010 Newsin
The awe at the Strawberry Fields Festival line-up for 2010 was pretty much unanimous on inthemix, with a ridiculously illustrious bunch of DJs and live acts. The three-day bash deep in the Victorian bush has now been and gone, and all those lucky enough to make the road-trip have no doubt had a difficult time adjusting to normal life again this week.
The reports on the Melbourne forum suggest some seriously inclement weather tried its darndest to put a dampener on the festival, but the vibe was strong. Vince Watson’s textured live techno was a galvanising highlight, which elsewhere across the weekend Detroit’s Mark Taylor, aka Vintage Future, brought some gravitas to proceedings and Joshua Eustis struck an emotional chord with his Telefon Tel Aviv performance. Of course, that’s just skimming the surface of the electronic smorgasbord across the three days.
Tonight the Strawberry Fields crew is throwing an ‘after-party’ at Brown Alley with Kompakt standard-bearers Michael Mayer and Tobias Thomas. Before you re-meet everyone and compare mosquito bites, you can reminisce about the festival that was in our photo gallery below.
It may have taken a little while for inthemix photographer James Gillot’s memory card to dry out, but he got some brilliant shots of the wet and wild weekend.
