Surely one of the best looking tour announcements of the year came with the news that electronic innovators Hudson Mohawke and The Gaslamp Killer would be teaming up with Warp mastermind – and owner of ITM’s top release of 2010Flying Lotus for an all-killer triple-bill tour this summer.

Things have unfortunately hit a snag just days before the trio were set to arrive in Australia with Scottish bass-bender Hudson Mohawke forced out of the tour due to injury.

Worries about HudMo’s visit were first raised when the producer took to Twitter to reveal he’d broken his foot last week, potentially sidelining him for the tour. In a message to inthemix today tour promoters The Operatives confirmed the unfortunate word.

“One little slip for Hudson Mohawke, and a broken foot for mankind. It is with deep regret that The Operatives announce HudMo’s exit of this amazing cast of electronic acts due to the inability to travel as a result of a broken foot and a torn ligament to boot,” the statement read, pun perhaps intended. “We wish HudMo a speedy recovery, and we apologise for any disappointment but rest assured he will be back in the near future.”

While the cancellation of Hudson Mohawke is def a blow for fans heading along to the dates at the end of this week and next the pairing of Flying Lotus and The Gaslamp Killer is still enough to get the blood pumping, and The Operatives have also confirmed that local producer Opiuo will be on hand to lend fresh support in Sydney and Melbourne while Hermitude will pick up the slack in Brisbane.

Flying Lotus and The Gaslamp Killer 2010/2011 tour dates:

29 and 30 December – Rhythm and Vines Festival, Gisbourne, NZ
31 December – Move @ The Bakery, Perth
2 January – Dank Morass @ The Tivoli, Brisbane
