All the action from another big weekend

Whew! What another massive weekend for the local dance scene. While it was never going to top the epic heights we reached over New Year’s with every DJ and his dog throwing a party, the second weekend of 2011 brought some seriously good party vibes to all corners of the country.
Making its final stop over in Perth was the Summadayze festival, bringing the western capital a blockbuster lineup of David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Aeroplane and more. From the looks of ITM’s photo gallery it was a perfect day for the festival’s 2011 swansong, with the sun gods blessing punters with ideal festival conditions.
While Summadayze was the only big festival going down over the weekend that left plenty of space for its touring stars to go out on some sideshow excursions during the week, including two big Sydney shows that brought together such inspired team-ups like Erol Alkan and The Rapture not to mention the mother of all combos with N.E.R.D, Boys Noize, Chromeo and Tinie Tempah. Major.

Speaking of outstanding joint tours and the current of Flying Lotus shows have been immense to say the least. Taking in Brisbane last week this past weekend saw the Warp mad-genius throw down in Sydney and Melbourne with The Gaslamp Killer and the mighty Dam-Funk. That’s large.

The Tivoli,
And similarly Chase & Status brought some bass-loving fun to the clubs over the weekend, teaming up with Subfocus and Netsky to decimate bass fiends.
If that’s not enough for you then grab some bonus action from Melbourne where The Rapture went solo inviting the crowd onstage for a maddening dance off. We likey.
