The big daddy of Australian summer festivals, Big Day Out got underway over the weekend with a super-sized stop on the Gold Coast where the weather was thankfully pristine for festival-goers happy to soak up a load of great music.
The first stop of the Australian festival tour was always going to be a doozy, and the Gold Coast date looks to set the tone for the national trek with dance music at the forefront thanks to buzzing performances from the likes of Booka Shade, M.I.A., LCD Soundsystem and an injured but still firing Crystal Castles.
ITM was right there in the thick of it with regular Queensland shooter the_pezman taking a heap of tasty photos on the day. Check out the embedded gallery below for a look at the punters and the performers on one hell of a day.
