Justice, M.I.A. & Mayer Hawthorne on SebastiAn’s debut LP

By now fans are well aware of Ed Banger Records’ snail-pace release schedule, with the label’s top tier artists like Justice and Uffie casually waiting a few years in between major releases. And like his label mates, fellow electro auteur SebastiAn has been locked up in the studio tinkering on his debut release which has been poised for release for something like two years now.

At last however it seems as though the record is ready for release, with SebastiAn’s Total LP officially hitting international stereos on May 30th.

According to Pitchfork, SebastiAn’s Total will comprise a rather extensive 22 tracks, including a few oldies like Motor and Ross Ross Ross and a couple of choice collaborations with vocalists M.I.A. and Stones Throw soul-bro Mayer Hawthorne. There’s also word that Gaspard Auge of Justice pops in on the record, presumably adding a bit of Justice grunt to the record.

ITM’s latest crystal ball session predicted that Total would be a big deal in 2011 and judging from the first track taken off the record, Embody, it’s easy to see why. Check it out below.

vocals are fucking terrible, dont fit at all. rest of the track good but mixers has that funk that electro like this need. funk is what dance music needs mixers funk!

Lighten up Bones, it's only dance music.

I just think someone signed to Stones Throw Records (one of the greatest labels around these days, in my opinion) shouldn't lower themselves to appearing on anything put out by Ed Banger.

That being said, I haven't listened to the tune. I'm just being an outright cunt.
