Best of the weekend

As Tuesday rears its head the dust has usually settled on the weekend’s clubbing exploits, and this past weekend was a particularly busy few nights despite not having a big bumper festival to bring a lot of acts to the punters.
The closest thing that we would’ve got to a festival though was in Sydney where the Magic City bash went down with local and international hard dance DJs jetting in. The ‘Showtime’ theme was certainly taken to the nth degree at The Hordern Pavilion, with an announcer introducing each act, round girls walking the stage and the DJ booth being set up in a boxing ring in the centre of the arena. Nice!
Meanwhile, the rest of the country got a seriously good offering of club gigs lead by international heavyweight James Zabiela who played two shows in Sydney and Melbourne. His Sydney show got an extra boost with UK don Midland joining in for the Garden Party and later pulling double duty for his own bash
On an entirely different note, Ministry Of Sound showed they were on to a good thing with the latest leg of their The Sound Of Dubstep tour with Borgore and Will Styles. The Sydney and Brisbane galleries are particularly messy affairs with Borgore inciting sweaty heaving crowds, bro shirtlessness and the occasional nipple-slip. You’ve been warned!

Manning Bar,
Scattered elsewhere across the country were handfuls of meaty headline shows from bands and DJs alike. Folk up north were treated to a flood of big names including Cut Copy, tyDi and Sampology, while Perth partied with Gary Numan, Adelaide felt the power of N-Type, Elite Force showed Sydney he still puts on a mean set and Melbourne peeps partied like it was the end of the world (it wasn’t).
There’s plenty more action from the plethora of weekly club nights currently in the ITM galleries so check out the photos section for your capital city and relive the best moments of the weekend.
