Who will win the title of “America’s Best DJ”?

With the northern hemisphere now hitting the start of its summer party season it’s time once again to start the back-slapping parade beginning with the increasingly big-room America’s Best DJ poll.

While the America’s Best DJ poll has traditionally been dominated by technical veterans of the US DJ community including past champions like Z-Trip and DJ Qbert the current explosion of dance music in the US has lead to an influx of popular artists sure to piss off the purists.

So though the recently released list of 100 DJ nominees for this year’s poll includes decks journeymen like Danny Tenaglia, Mixmaster Mike, DJ Shadow and Carl Craig among their ranks all eyes will be on rising stars like Skrillex, Bassnectar, Hot Pink Delorean and of course Jersey Shore house guido DJ Pauly D who turbo-boosted straight to #8 on the list last year.

You can express your allegiance to one of the 100 DJs listed below by voting at the America’s Best DJ site and to get you in the mood here’s Skrillex and Steve Aoki crowd-surfing in an inflatable raft. Your argument is invalid.

Wolfgang Gartner or A-Trak; both their styles of music have mainstream popularity, and they both have serious mixing skills too.
As much as I love Skrillex, he really can't mix.

What is traditional about A-Trak's mixing that J-Rocc or Craze aren't also capable of?

Juzzy9

Juzzy9 said on the 12th Jun, 2011

im not saying their not skilled djs but from what ive seen and experienced a-trak has more skill than craze and j-rocc, even with his recent popularity
