Bloc Party DJ tour

While wandering Bloc Party frontman Kele will be in the country this weekend to perform as a part of the annual Splendour In The Grass festival (plus a select few sideshows, natch) the Australian connection is set to continue with a DJ tour on the way.

Set to run across our clubs this October, the 2011 Bloc Party DJ tour will be helmed by wiry guitarist and occasional remixer from the band Russell Lissack and will mesh the bean-pole’s tastes of “dance anthems with very special indie classics, edits and remixes”.

The dates will also serve as the next best thing to a full Bloc Party tour with the band said to be working on new material for a forthcoming LP.

Bloc Party DJ tour dates:

Wednesday October 5 @ Villa Nightclub, Perth
Thursday October 6 @ Apple Bar, Adelaide
Friday October 7 @ Platinum Nightclub, Gold Coast
Saturday October 8 @ Warehouse, Melbourne
Sunday October 9 @ The Buddha Bar, Byron Bay
Thursday October 13 @ OneFiveOne, Wollongong
Friday October 14 @ Oh Hello!, Brisbane
Saturday October 15 @ The Metro, Sydney
