Listen: Joris Voorn’s huge mix of 43 classics

Regardless of what you make of his sound in 2011, there’s no denying Joris Voorn can DJ like a fiend. Thank god it’s Friday, then, because the Dutchman has put together a mix that’ll surely elevate a few house parties this weekend. “I’ve made a little cocktail of obvious classics and less known personal favourites,” writes Voorn of his trip through dance music history.

On Saturday 17 September, Voorn and his offsider Edwin Oosterwal will celebrate the 15-year run of the Rejected label with an all-nighter at Amsterdam’s storied Trouw club. That’s why he’s gone digging to pull together this celebratory session. Get it cranking.

That was a very enjoyable mix, but it had absolutely no direction whatsoever. Felt like a bunch of awesome tunes, not an awesome mix
