Ultra Music Festival: the movie
Thu 6th Oct, 2011 in News 1836 views
2011 is shaping up as to be the year of the big-budget dance music documentary/marketing exercise. We’ve got David Guetta’s Nothing But The Beat movie that charts the irrepressible Frenchman’s commercial rise (who could forget that genius quote about creating a bridge between white and black people?). Then there’s Electric Daisy Carnival Experience, which goes behind-the-scenes of the gargantuan US festival to draw prophetic quotes from will.i.am, Deadmau5, Moby and – whaddaya know – David Guetta.
One dance goliath that’s not about to be left behind is Miami’s ever-growing Ultra Music Festival. Having set up the UMF Films brand, the festival has produced a slick movie bearing the title Can U Feel It, with the trailer revealed this week.
The press notes promise “detailed, honest and first-hand insight” from Tiesto, Carl Cox, Boys Noize, Fedde le Grand and a certain David Guetta about the US fervour for all things electronic (and of course why UMF is the king of them all). It may not be unbiased filmmaking, but it certainly looks spectacular. Check out the first full HD trailer below, then stay tuned to find out where we’ll get to see the finished product.
