Damn fine festivalling: musica/TUMBALONG

Sydney turned on a picture-perfect spring day over the weekend for musica/TUMBALONG, and the good times did roll. The new boutique event cornered all the elements necessary for a superior party: great sound and staging, a unique location and a clash-free timetable of emerging acts.

The sunshine only added to the festive atmosphere, complimenting the breezy afternoon vibes provided by Electric Wire Hustle and Tiger & Woods. After UK wordsmith Ghostpoet took things past sunset with an atmospheric three-piece set, it was up to Lunice and SBTRKT to bring it home. With crisp, punchy sound on his side, SBTRKT in DJ mode delivered a sublime hour punctuated by his own productions and cresting with his remix of Modeselektor’s Art & Cash.

Stay tuned for the full inthemix review soon, but in the meantime you can delve into our official gallery from the day. Roll on the musica/TUMBALONG sequel!
