Nero, Miss Kittin & more on Big Day Out 2012 second line-up

If you were feeling like the Big Day Out line-up was light on Boiler Room headliners, the second round of acts should help that. Leading the way in the 2012 Boiler Room is the Nero live show, with further additions like Bassnectar and Miss Kittin.

Changes to Perth, Adelaide and Auckland

There are also some huge changes announced for Perth, Adelaide and Auckland. In 2012 these events in these cities will be downsized.

Adelaide will be cut down from seven stages to four which means that Kanye West, The Living End and Mariachi El Bronx will no longer be performing.

The Perth event has moved to Brownes Stadium, and with reduced stages as well. Kanye West, Hilltop Hoods and Mariachi El Bronx will not be performing.

Auckland Big Day Out has already been forced to cancel Odd Future and now Kanye won’t be playing either. The festival will be cut back to four stages. There’ll only be a single main stage – without a D barrier – and the Lilyworld and Local Produce stages have been dropped; the Boiler Room is unchanged. The capacity will stay the same.

Punters who have already purchased tickets for Perth, Adelaide or Auckland will get a $20 merch voucher and have been given two options if unhappy – they can exchange their tickets for a ticket in any other city or get a refund until 30 November.

and id say royksopp would be more suited for a blissful early evening set, not raging at 10 o clock.

The Perth event will actually be at Brownes Stadium, but it may as well be at Brown Stadium because it looks like a pile of shit.

To be honest i think the best new addition is The Amity Affliction. The only reason I'd go to BDO is to see both metal/hardcore and dance acts on the same day. But this year there's just not enough good acts!

Nero:
2008 Great
2009 Good
2010 Bad
2011 Terrible
I don't think they know what good dubstep is anymore.
Don't call yourself a Nero fan unless you've heard the track Something Else.

Fuck you BDO.

Don't usually like getting on the hate bandwagon for festivals. But this BDO lineup is extremely uninspiring

Very ordinary Boiler Room line-up, in fact for a 20 year reunion they could have made a much bigger effort

Once again Adelaide get's screwed over for festivals. For $170.00 to have the Kanye headline pulled is just pathetic. This will probably be the first year in the last ten that I won't go to the festival. It is really sad to see my fav festival starting to become so diluted and faded out.

For steroesonic Adelaide missed out on: Carl Cox, Empire of the Sun, PNAU & Focus live.......big fail

scottycolinson, more like if you don't know Nero's DNB tunes like Bitch I'm Gone or Energy then you're not a true Nero fan.

It is almost as if neither Splendour or BDO can be bothered putting together a good dance lineup recently.
Royksopp are one of my favourite groups ever but apart from them and Girl Talk who played there just 2 years ago it is pretty barren.
Fairly sure they will end up losing money this year.

Kittin better do a clubshow afterwards. Was devastated when she performed at 13:30h (!!!!!) at Stereosonic and the queue was too long at the entrance and I missed her. Wish she'd bring the Hacker though, he's a legend
