Download the new Skream and Benga EP for free

Korn may like to think that they invented dubstep, but the not-completely-delusional among us know that the credit is more fittingly attributed to Big Apple Records pioneers, like Skream and Benga.

Now, the oft-christened “Godfathers of dubstep” have further cemented their status in the genre with a new 5-track joint EP – which has been released today for free digital download. The EP is the product of what seems to be a non-stop state of producing music for the pair – in a recent interview with The Guardian, Skream revealed he’s up at 7am every morning to get to the studio, sometimes churning out in excess of a dozen tunes each week. That’s no mean feat for a man who’s not exactly known for restraint when it comes to partying.

The Scion A/V presents Skream and Benga tracklist features two tunes from Benga and three from Skream, and can be downloaded over here. The new EP comes ahead of Benga’s new forthcoming solo album and the second Magnetic Man album, which Benga told inthemix this morning is due for release in October.

That should be a steady enough stream of new dubstep to forget The Path of Totality ever existed.
