Not keen to sit at home and wait for Gotye to inevitably be crowned Triple J’s #1 artist for 2011 on January 26? Then you’ll be pleased to know that Melbourne’s boutique festival Harbourside presents a pretty compelling alternative to the Hottest 100 hubbub.
The people behind Stereosonic are bringing six big internationals and a stack of acclaimed local DJs to Melbourne’s Docklands this Australia Day. From 1pm, Shed 14 will play host to Laidback Luke, Bart B More, Derrick Carter, Nadastrom, Sandro Silva, Rogerseventytwo (and more!) for the day, with the acts spread out over two big rooms.
Don’t worry; there’ll be two amply-stocked bars – because it wouldn’t be a proper Australia Day if you didn’t get really, really drunk.
