Ridiculously massive Coachella 2012 line-up lands

Image for Ridiculously massive Coachella 2012 line-up lands

After a good decade of consistently bringing the best artists of the year to Southern California, Coachella can be counted on for a massive line-up. Well, the 2012 announcement has just arrived – and while we were expecting massive, there was nothing that could prepare us for the colossal enormity of this year’s bill.

The best part is the huge contingent of dance acts. Even with the festival running for three days, we can’t fathom how all these acts could possibly fit in sets. It’s obscene.

First up, there’s big commercial names like Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Afrojack, Kaskade, Avicii and Calvin Harris. Then there’s long-time favourites Radiohead, Modeselektor, DJ Shadow and M83, plus electro-bangers Justice and SebastiAn.

Dubstep and bass have a good representation too, with Datsik, Sub Focus, Zeds Dead, Nero, Flux Pavilion and NOISIA all on the bill. But wait, there’s more! SBTRKT, Madeon and The Weeknd are also set to play, as is Girl Talk, Martin Solveig and Sebastian Ingrosso. Then there’s Metronomy, Dada Life, La Roux and araabMUZIK, to name but a few.

But that’s only skimming the surface – head over here for a large version of the poster. So, booked your flight to LA yet?

Advice to all DJs going over for the festival to sign up for the Global Inheritance ENERGY FACTORY - which gives up coming DJs to play at Coachella (Must have a ticket already purchased) - I got to play last year and was SO FUN! They use big giant rat wheels and other kinetic energy machines to power the decks and speakers.

Very average on the EDM front.
RIP Sahara tent. Your last good moments were Sasha into Boys Noize on night 1 last year, which clashed with the Chemical Brothers (WTF).
Its still a great weekend, but for anyone who wants some decent EDM, I definitely would not recommend it.
