Chemical Brothers fans would have welcomed last month’s news that the legendary dance act are immortalising their live show on the silver screen. After releasing a series of cryptic and very-eerie short videos on their website, the Brothers announced plans to release Don’t Think; a concert film capturing their awe-inspiring live show at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival last year.
Yesterday, Don’t Think premiered at 20 cinemas across 20 cities worldwide – included in the very special screenings was Sydney’s own Event Cinemas on George Street. But if, like most of the nation, you were too busy/boozey celebrating ‘Straya Day to make it down to the premiere, all is not lost.
While Don’t Think isn’t getting the usual cinema run, there is one more chance to catch the film. On February 3, it will release for special event screenings at a selection of cinemas around the country – for one night only.
You can check out the full list of screening locations here (the list is pretty sizeable), but fans in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Albury, Bendigo, Cairns, Darwin, Hobart among a bunch other regional locations will all be able to head along. Tickets are on sale now, so it’s probably not a bad idea to get booking.
Given the film is the first-ever concert recorded in Dolby 7:1 Surround Sound, on no fewer than 21 cameras and in front of 55,000 fans, this is definitely one to catch on the big screen. Plus, the Don’t Think trailer makes it look pretty damn cool.
