Exit Festival is a suspension of reality,” wrote inthemix’s reviewer of his Serbian adventure in 2011. “Punters literally party all night and sleep during the day, lose track of time and hang out together in specially set-up hostels. Beer costs less than a dollar. There is no curfew. Musically, Exit is an absolute treasure trove for fans of any genre, patently because it dips into all of them.”

Those are sentiments you’ll hear echoed far and wide, and preparations are already underway for the 2012 event. Stretching from 12 to 15 July in the historic Petrovardian Fortress, Exit has secured an iconic headliner in New Order (who will of course be getting in practise at our own Future Music Festival this March). The first crop of Dance Arena names includes the Cadenza Records team of Luciano, Reboot, Kenny Larkin, Robert Dietz and Maayan Nidam, while Buraka Som Sistema are on the Fusion Stage. Needless to say, this is just the tip of the iceberg, so stay tuned for the avalanche of additions.

If you’re committed to make the trip in 2012, tickets are available now for a price-tag that won’t break the budget.
