DJ kills nightclub patron after song request scuffle

Image for DJ kills nightclub patron after song request scuffle

As our No Breasts, No Requests gallery so eloquently illustrated last year, DJs aren’t exactly known for being fond of song requests. But while demands for a particular tune are usually met with mild annoyance, a DJ in the US (where else?) has taken things one step further and shot dead a club patron who asked to play his CD.

As reported by The Atlanta Journal Constitution (and picked up by blog Stoney Roads), Johnny Jackson III, or “DJ Outlaw”, has been charged with murder after shooting a nightclub customer dead last month. The victim, Mark Williams, allegedly attacked Jackson in the club for refusing to play his CD. Later, Jackson shot Williams in the parking lot of the nightclub five times.

Jackson argues that he was walking to his car when he saw Williams approaching with a gun in his hand and acted in self-defence. The prosecutors, however, argued that Williams wasn’t carrying a gun, and one witness stated that she saw DJ Outlaw “fire a couple of times and then stand over the victim and fire more.” However it went down, this is a pretty sad and crazy story.

Well, I guess it's more effective than saying "I'll see what I can do" over and over

sounds like an incident similar to the shain thame story back in 2011. He started playing skrillex in an electro club and his fan didnt like it so he shot dead 9 in the club before pulling the gun on himself.. sad story..

@ Its Zyzz - I actually heard that as well, however the actual story was Shian Thame shot himself after someone slipped a skrillex track into the cd player... his final words were ... 'Death is my only escape'

"Only in America"... I guess everywhere else in the world, DJs just take a beating. Poor you.

I can tell all of my Dirty Harry-hating international friends that this happened at a Hip-Hop club, which really doesn't surprise any of us, does it?

Many a time I've been asked for RnB or 80's stadium rock of some sort. Maybe I should start packing a gun

Its was his own CD so good self promotion, but horrible ending..however if it is some drunk hag from the Shire/Frankston requesting Gaga..blap blap. I think anyone who has Dj'ed properly out there can empathise a bit.
