Kraftwerk ticket debacle leaves NYC fans raging

If you’re among the many Australian Kraftwerk devotees bummed to be too far from New York to catch the group’s MoMA residency, rest assured: most American fans won’t be making it along, either.
Many US fans hoping to score tickets to one of Kraftwerk’s eight performances at New York’s Museum of Modern Art in April have, by and large, found themselves flat out of luck. The site hosting the ticket sales, Showclix, seems to have experienced a massive technical fail – with users reporting the site failing to load, experiencing time outs and keeping them trapped in an unmoving queue (see video below).
While most received no love from their computers, a few quick-thinkers booked over the phone and within an hour, all eight shows were sold out. Even venue employees couldn’t get a ticket: one MoMA staffer tweeted “Take heart, Interwebs: not even MoMA staff is immune to #Kraftwerk ticket FAIL. Success rate in the office near zero.”
So who actually did land a ticket, then? Apparently, Kim Kardashian posted on Twitter that she’d secured tickets to one of the shows, before quickly deleting said Tweet. Kim Kardashian the Kraftwerk fan? She’s just in it for the alliteration.
