Playground team say “keep the weekend free”…

From Playground Weekender HQ on Friday morning: “We are still working on events for this Saturday and Sunday in Sydney and are hoping to give you an update later this morning. We will also be giving you more info on refunds. In the meantime, all aboard the Ark!”
According to Hudson Mohawke on Twitter, he and Rustie will be playing after the Bonobo show at the Metro Theatre.
A Rebel Rave party is planned for a ‘TBC’ location in Sydney on Saturday featuring the likes of Art Department, Damian Lazarus and Lee Burridge.
Today has been crushing for the good people behind the Playground Weekender festival, who were forced to cancel this weekend’s revelry following severe weather warnings from the NSW State Emergency Services and the Police. Among the many questions flying around from punters is a despairing: “So what are we going to do now?”
The PGW team has just taken to Facebook to offer a little hope for a last-minute party with some of the line-up: “Keep this weekend free and don’t throw away your fancy dress costumes just yet, we are working on doing something in the city. Hopefully we can make it happen…stay tuned for more!” We’ll keep you updated.
“We have been planning this event all year and were anticipating it as much as our guests were,” Playground head honcho Andy Rigby said in the official statement. “The safety of the guests, artists and staff at the event, and on their way to and from the event, is our main priority. Reluctantly we have followed advice that it would be unsafe to ask people to travel in these weather conditions, and as such the event cannot go ahead.”
