Metric announce Splendour sideshows

When Splendour In The Grass went on-sale last week, all tickets disappeared in record time. While the line-up isn’t short on beloved indie stars like Bloc Party and Jack White, for the dance-inclined it’s a little thinner on the ground this year. However, one of the bill’s crossover favourites Metric has announced a trio of sideshows for the fans who won’t be making the Byron pilgrimage this year.

The last time Metric ventured down here was for Parklife in 2009, where frontwoman Emily Haines led the band through some standout performances. In June, Metric will release its fifth studio album Synthetica, so expect a set-list that spans old and new. You can listen to the LP’s propulsive lead single Youth Without Youth below. Haines is also an occasional collaborator with the dance world, having lent her vocals to tracks from the likes of MSTRKRFT and Tiesto.

Metric tour dates:

Wednesday 25 July – Capitol, Perth
Thursday 26 July – The Hi-Fi, Sydney
Friday 27 July – Billboard, Melbourne
