Sven Vath reveals Cocoon Ibiza 2012 line-up

If you go to Ibiza looking for techno, it’s likely you’ll find yourself on the dancefloor at Amnesia on Monday night. For 13 years, Sven Vath’s Cocoon residency has kicked off the ‘working week’ at the cavernous club, with crisp, powerful sound, an unhinged atmosphere and some of the main man’s celebrated friends. In 2012, it’s set to be business as usual – except this time with less regular appearances from Vath’s regular compadre Richie Hawtin, who is expected to announce his own residency on the Isle soon. It’s quite a significant change in cast, given how instrumental Hawtin has been in establishing the Cocoon Ibiza brand.

This season’s theme is ‘Into The Magic’, and Vath has again called on his regular offsiders Loco Dice and Ricardo Villalobos. Having established himself as a key player of We Love…Space, Dutchman Joris Voorn will make a couple of special appearances at Cocoon.

In September, Vath is set to command the main room on his own all night long, while elsewhere across the season he’s joined by Cassy, The Martinez Brothers, Maya Jane Coles, Raresh, Planetary Assault Systems and more. On Monday 30 July, Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing and Marcel Dettmann take over the reins for an all-out techno session. Yep, that one sounds good.
