While any hopes of seeing Swedish powerhouse Eric Prydz on Australian soil have been pretty much abandoned, at least the guy’s productive in the studio. Prydz has been concertedly working on an artist album that’s expected in the latter half of 2012 under his own name, but in the meantime he’s got a new retrospective compilation to show off.
Eric Prydz presents Pryda, a three-disc collection of his key productions under that moniker, is released here on 18 May through Virgin Music. The first disc is made up of previously unreleased Pryda material, which arguably makes it the pick of the bunch, and our friends over at Hype Machine are streaming disc one in full. You can listen in the embedded player below.
The 13 offerings here all reinforce Pryda’s dominance of big-room, progressive-leaning bombs that go straight to the USBs/CD wallets of the scene’s biggest names. If you listen to sets from the Swede, you’ll already be acquainted with several of these, including Shadows and the ‘Intro Edit’ of 2008-ruling anthem Pjanoo. A couple of his recently-released bombs are included: SW4, inspired by the end-of-summer London festival of the same name, and the blockbuster-sized Allein.
