Bristol gun Julio Bashmore launches new label

“Fast cars, money, but no record label to truly call my own? This ends today…Hi, I’m Julio Bashmore.” With a well-carved niche as one of the UK’s most exciting producers, it looks like Bristol identity Julio Bashmore has a humorous streak too, announcing his new label Broadwalk Records with tongue firmly in cheek.
“Somehow I have found time between jet-setting around the globe, becoming a voice for the people via my Radio One show and generally living the high life to bring you a brand new label, Broadwalk Records,” he goes on. “Today heralds a new era in the Julio Bashmore chronicles, with a sound that shall echo through the ages.”
Having pricked up the ears of Dirtybird boss Claude VonStroke a few years back, Bashmore treds a compelling line between house and bass music. The first release on Broadwalk Records is his own creation, Au Seve, out early July. It’s distinctively the producer’s handiwork, too. Since being recruited by Dirtybird, the Bristolian has released gems on Futureboogie Recordings, 3024 and Soul Motive to name a few. Here’s hoping he makes time to spread the Broadwalk Records message in Australia this year – as we earmarked in our 2012 Tour Tips.
