Vivid Sydney is here, and we're covering every day of it
Fri 25th May, 2012 Newsin
A little over two months on from the 2012 line-up announcement, Vivid Sydney gets underway tonight. Over the course of the next two weeks; the light, music and ideas festival will bring the likes of Amon Tobin, Sufjan Stevens, Janelle Monae, Florence and the Machine, Karen O and Seekae to the Opera House, as well as hosting Vivid Ideas seminars, the APRA song summit and illuminating the shit out of Circular Quay.
So to catch this all as it unfolds, inthemix will embedded at the Opera House every day of Vivid’s run. We’ll be at every performance, party and important event and naturally, we’ll be reporting back everything we see, hear and do right here on the site daily. That’s not all – we’ll also be doing interviews with the key Vivid players, filming exclusive video content, lurking backstage and delivering daily photo galleries shot by Sydney’s top photographers. Basically, if it happens at Vivid (and is interesting) you’ll hear about it here.
Our daily Vivid dispatches will be powered by Intel and a team of dedicated writers, who’ll be on ground at the Opera House day and night. There’s Caitlin Welsh, staff writer at The Brag and regular Mess+Noise contributor, Jim Poe, author of ITM’s most-hearted article ever An adventure with Aphex Twin and myself, inthemix’s Editorial Coordinator.
From tomorrow, we’ll be publishing our Vivid reports every day (yes, including weekends) so head back here each morning for a wrap-up of the previous day’s events. We’ll be kicking off the first dispatch tomorrow with reviews of Florence + The Machine and PVT, video footage of Karen O’s The Virgens rehearsing and photos from best-photographers Dan Boud and Prudence Upton. Fuck yeah, culture!
