It’s never been a secret that UK bass-bender Rusko likes to go all-out – booze, stage-diving, non-stop touring – but sometimes what goes up must come down. The DJ has been on the road in the U.S. since April, and the final stop is the L.A. Palladium on 1 June. However, a post from Rusko’s management yesterday revealed: “Due to extreme dehydration and under doctor’s orders, Rusko is unfortunately being forced to postpone the next three shows.”

What’s unusual about this sudden need for time out is the string of events that led up to it. Last week, Rusko’s tour stopped in to Stereo Live in Houston, Texas, and while the night was unfolding as raucously as usual, the headliner couldn’t contain his anger at the hapless sound guy. Throughout his set, Rusko took to the mic to berate the sound desk – and, naturally, his Twitter hosted a similar flood of keyboard-bashing vitriol: “Houston most unprofessional useless c*nts fuck you fuxk your mothers get your fuxking sound right retard motherfucks. Stereo live FUCK YOU.”

After swearing that the sound guy was going to “get left in a body bag”, Rusko then backed up for another date the next night at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas. After that show, he posted a photo of himself in a neck-brace being ferried away from the venue by ambulance. Stage-diving accident? Backstage shenanigans? Scuffle? There doesn’t seem to be any clear answer, but Rusko was out of the hospital the next day with “nothing broken”.

A YouTube video (below) of Rusko ranting backstage in Houston has already clocked up over 22,000 views. “I’m the sound engineer for Stereo Live, but I was stranded in west Texas at the time of this show,” reads one comment under the video. “This was a one-time unfortunate occurrence. My apologies to Rusko for my absence.”
