Parklife 2012 lineup lands!

Image for Parklife 2012 lineup lands!

It’s here! After months of waiting, rumours and a few inadvertent leaks, the Parklife 2012 lineup announcement has finally arrived. The spring festival institution hits Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide this September and October, and predictably it’s got a huge assembly of big names in tow. Leading the charge is locals The Presets, backed up by a long-awaited Robyn, recent Summadayze visitors Justice on the decks and US electro-pop act Passion Pit.

With this year’s tour following a giant, bass-heavy 2011 lineup that included Magnetic Man, Nero and Flux Pavilion alongside Digitalism, Ed Banger dude SebastiAn and the legendary The Streets, Parklife has a lot to live up to. So, have Fuzzy topped it for 2012? Check out the lineup below and let us know what you think.

Super surprised to see JLC on the lineup - have wanted to see him for years. A 90 minute closing set by him on one of the side stages would be memorable - his remixes holds so many memories of Melbourne and the SMMB for me - from Coursey playing 'What Else Is There' at Summadayze to 'Mr Brightside' being one of the classic Prince tracks.

Wish I wasn't flying back from Paris that night!

Great Lineup, Perfect mix of Live, Dance and Dubstep. can't wait to see Preset's new production and the new direction that they go in. Flume + Jack Beats have both played at oh hello! and with Flume's album coming out soon his show will be one to watch at this year's parklife.

Really Don't want to wait over 3 months until parklife......hurry up summer!

limeicecubes

limeicecubes said on the 19th Jun, 2012

Really weak lineup, sure there's some quality in there, but all the highlights of this list have been here thousands of times. When are music festivals going to chase after new blood and artists that haven't toured last weekend...dissapointed with the absence of erol alkan, boys noize, bat for lashes & totally enormous extinct dinosaurs.

jamwildway

jamwildway said on the 19th Jun, 2012

A lil disappointing, except for The Presets, Jacques Lu Cont & Nero. Fuzzy needs some bigger names on the bill if they want to compete with the NRL Grand Final schedule clash.

Aldo Van Eyck (architect) laments that western civilization has embraced a position based on an %u2018assumption that what is not like it is a deviation, less advanced, primitive, or, at best, exotically interesting at a safe distance.%u2019
how do you expect them to make line ups better, if anything different than last time is considered a step backwards?
...homogeneous parklife crowd

I'm hoping that the Presets are going to GO OFF...
I will still be attending even with this piss poor line up.
Why can;t they look at Parklife England and get some of the great acts they have playing there? Are Australians really that stupid that we need to see the same acts 6 times in 2 years?
Music scene in this country is fucked.
The only company still bringing out quality and variety is Future Music, wish they had this years line up split into 3 festivals over the year, they had way too many great acts, and too many people missed out on seeing so much.
