Hernan Cattaneo & Fritz Kalkbrenner here in Spring

As he’s proven time and time again on the Australian club circuit, Hernan Cattaneo is a rare kind of DJ. Whether he’s given two hours or six to work with, the Argentinean veteran always finds the sweet spot. This September, he’s back for his customary visit, arriving here after another hard-touring Northern summer. The man’s Sudbeat label continues to fire – a recent release comes from local star Rich Curtis – and his DJ sets are always weaved with music you won’t hear anywhere else. Fans will need no further encouragement to note this one in the diary.

Also coming down is German dynamo Fritz Kalkbrenner, whose studio talents are much-celebrated. He’s responsible for bona-fide anthem Sky and Sand alongside his superstar brother Paul, and for an idea of his influences, seek out his 2012 mix-CD Suol Mates. In Sydney, Kalkbrenner and Cattaneo play a Chinese Laundry pool party at ivy, while in Melbourne the double-bill will launch annual electronic pilgrimage Strawberry Fields. Stay tuned for more dates.

Hernan Cattaneo & Fritz Kalkbrenner tour dates:

Friday 21 Sep – Strawberry Fields launch @ Brown Alley, Melbourne
Saturday 22 Sep – Chinese Laundry Pool Party @ ivy, Sydney

Chinese Laundry are running the Pool for a special limited ticketed event during the day at Ivy , and we have proved time & time again we know how to throw a party with the "right" crowd

tickets will no doubt be snapped up by Hernan & Fritz fans before anyone else even gets word of the party

I'm not doubting your ability to throw a party, Paul. It's the regular crowd that frequent the venue and who buy tickets simply because they want to gain entry to their usual weekend bodybuilding championship that is questionable. A great number of us have attended ticketed events at ivy and walked away saying 'that was alright, but it would have been so much better in a different venue'.

I know that if it were held at Laundry I'd be there in a heartbeat.

The earlybird tix sold out with zero advertising, so it looks like only ITMers and Laundry regulars/Hernan fans going so far...
Given the limited capacity of the venue and tix all being presold it shouldn't be that different to the Garden parties with regards to crowd & vibe http://www.dashtickets.com.au/event/2hmf089sz
