Strawberry Fields 2012 first line-up names: Bodzin, Kollektiv Turmstrasse & more
Mon 9th Jul, 2012 Newsin
From our vantage point in the middle of winter, the long, hot summer seems pretty far away. However, the good people at Strawberry Fields festival have given us something to look forward to, with the first instalment of names for the 2012 weekender deep in the Victorian bush. We’ve got the scoop on some seriously great names to start things off, and you can be sure of plenty more where this came from. The dates for the festival are still to come.
Deep house and electronica specialists Kollektiv Turmstrasse head up this first round, and they’re a perfect fit for a festival under the stars. In 2012, the Hamburg duo has been criss-crossing Europe and the U.S., playing a roll-call of enviable parties and festivals. We can only hope the guys have been working on a follow-up to their Connaisseur Recordings-signed album from a couple of years back, Rebellion Der Träumer.
Also confirmed is L.A.-based Brainfeeder recruit Teebs, who has shown off his studio alchemy with the Ardour and Collections LPs. Expect a genre-bending set from him. Then there’s German tech veteran Stephan Bodzin, the electronic adventurer Prefuse 73, ‘high-tech minimal’ star Boris Brejcha, Swiss studio whiz Khainz and cross-continental team SQL and Child performing live. So far, so good.
As our reviewer wrote of the 2011 edition of Strawberry Fields: “It was a great location with an impressive amount of trees, great music, and an all-round good vibe from everyone concerned.” Read the review from 2011 here.
