Perfecto leader Paul Oakenfold is a busy man in 2012. As well as touring with pop juggernaut Madonna as her support act and captaining his label, the DJ-producer is sorting through the “tons of great music” around at the moment for his upcoming BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, due for broadcast on 21 July. September sees Oakey bringing his Four Seasons tour concept down here, and the first show to go on-sale is Sydney’s date at the Hordern Pavilion. Head to Ticketek to pick up an early-bird ticket.

Oakey has found his sweet spot again in the studio, releasing weapons like Glow In The Dark, Tokyo, Pop Star and Full Moon Party. “I came out of DJing when I moved to America to focus on writing for films and games,” he told the Liverpool Daily Post back in March. “Now I have put that on hold to do more travelling and DJing and I am really enjoying it. I am focused on DJing and making music this year. There is nothing like that feeling you get when you are directly in front of people and you are playing music and connecting through music. You really feel it and so do they.”

The ‘Four Seasons’ tour concept sees Oakenfold marking winter, spring, summer and autumn with new compilations. The DJ still leads his Perfecto Records empire and its Perfecto Fluoro offshoot from his adopted second home of the U.S., while also forging an industrious alliance with Armada. Expect him to arrive in Australia armed with a stack of new music.
