Hear Feed Me mix up a chunk of his new music
Tue 24th Jul, 2012 Newsin
Jon Gooch has been a busy guy since he brought his Feed Me guise to the bass stage at Parklife 2011 alongside Flux Pavilion, Nero and Joker. As well as turning up as a producer on one of 2011’s most argued-about albums, Korn’s dubstep-leaning Path Of Totality, he’s also released a popular EP on mau5trap, Feed Me’s Escape From Electric Mountain, featuring collaborations with Hadouken! and Gemini. Before Feed Me, the Englishman operated as Spor, so he’s well practised in everything from drum & bass to Moombahton to big-room electro-house.
Gooch’s biggest project, though, has been the ‘With Teeth’ tour around the USA and Canada featuring his new custom stage show and special guest like Skream, Benga, Kill The Noise and 12th Planet. “Creating the show has been the biggest and most exciting thing I’ve ever done,” he has said.
If you’ve been hankering for more new music from the producer, it’s your lucky day. Gooch appeared on Annie Nightingale’s BBC Radio 1 show for a 23-minute mix featuring “a bunch of new things” he’s been working on. In amongst his studio handiwork is Mr. Oizo’s Mositif, the Skrillex remix of Birdy Nam Nam’s Goin’ In and a few more quickly-mixed snippets. There’s said to be a Feed Me album in the works, so some of these “new things” might turn up on that. If you’re looking for more insight into the mind of Feed Me, his post back in April on music-making is well worth a read.
